Community Programs

The LMA is identifying and encouraging the upliftment of our developmental growth through various sensitization programs. The Authority sponsored Female Teachers Consultant Workshops and participated in various intellectual discourse series' for the enlightenment of the citizenry.

Under the "Reclaiming Liberia's Beaches and Waterways" Project, we are spreading the message of CLEAN BEACHES= JOBS. The project aims to sensitize and empower water and beachfront community dwellers to end urban waste. The project seeks to empower and employ approximately 3500 to 5000 beach community dwellers, and provide them with logistics to clean and maintain our beaches and waterways. Currently, infrastructure such as modern toilet facilities and hand pumps are being built where we have successfully cleaned. Many of these Liberians will be banked for the first time in their lives as Maritime staff. This is the first phase of our long term goal which will be to bring development to one of the Nation's single greatest untapped resources, our waters and create much needed jobs.
