Counselling and Guidance Officer - Regional Maritime University (RMU), Accra, Ghana

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and interested nationals of the Republics of Cameroon, The Gambia, Ghana, Liberia and Sierra Leone to fill the following position at the Regional Maritime University, Accra, Ghana:

COUNSELLING AND GUIDANCE OFFICER

JOB PURPOSE
To provide professional service to students and faculty (which include care, support and general well being) and to co-ordinate placement of students on job for their internship.

DUTIES
-Responsible for the welfare, career guidance and counseling of students of the University;
-Assess and advise students on problems;
-Act as guardian of the University's values;
-Advise Management of students needs and issues;
-Provide orientation to students;
-Perform any other duties assigned form time to time

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
A good first Degree in the Social Sciences or relevant field with 5 years relevant post qualification experience

OTHER QUALITIES OR REQUIREMENTS
-Good analytical and evaluation skills;
-Good diplomatic and skills communication skill;
-Organizational and planning skills;
-Must possess leadership skills;
-Ability to respond to new challenges;
-Reliable, punctual, dedicated, responsible;
-Must be smart;
-Confidential, trustworthy;
-Must be open, accessible and customer-friendly;
-Must be innovative and highly analytical;
-Must be energetic and capable of working under pressure and for long hours;
-Must be team player;
-Must be to apply principles to solve practical problems.

SALARY: Salary attached to the posts are based on the RMU Integrated Salary Scale
